Utility Dive‘s Emma Penrod reports that Plug Power and Apex Clean Energy have entered a 345 MW power purchasing agreement to produce green hydrogen.
- Plug Power has entered into a 345 MW wind power purchasing agreement with Apex Clean Energy, the largest in the U.S.
- The wind power will produce enough carbon-free liquid hydrogen to power over 1,000 heavy duty trucks per day by 2025.
- The free market is driving the innovation of hydrogen fuel.
“Plug Power also has additional hydrogen plants in the works, including a 15-ton plant announced in Georgia, and a larger plant run on hydropower planned near Buffalo, New York.”
