Biden signature climate proposal, a clean electricity standard, is part of Democratic budget deal

Josh Siegel of The Washington Examiner reports that a clean electricity standard is included in the newly released Democratic budget deal.

  • A clean energy standard would force utilities to generate or procure 80% of their electricity from emissions-free power by 2030.
  • We have reduced emissions in the United States through market forces, not top-down mandates.
  • The most effective way that we can reduce domestic emissions is through regulatory reform and unleashing the power of the free market.
