Getting climate, energy & environment news right.

Conservatives have been vocal about our climate for years. Those voices won’t be ignored any longer.

“Climate change is real and the need to protect our environment is real. I want to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to create solutions to address climate change that are realistic, market-based and will actually have an impact on climate change. We should also be focusing on proposals that will create American jobs instead of killing them.”

“I believe that climate change is real, is driven mainly by human activity and that it is driving real-world changes such as extreme weather events, hotter temperatures, rising sea levels and ocean acidification. I believe that the United States has a moral and economic imperative to mitigate the impacts of climate change. However, I do not think that H.J. Res. 109, the Green New Deal is the right solution.”

“Climate change is real, and as Republican Leaders of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, we are focused on solutions. A serious, solutions-oriented discussion about how to address this challenge, while protecting the interests of the American people, our communities, and our country’s economic well-being is fundamental to getting this right.”

“The US has reduced carbon emissions more than next 12 countries combined through free market incentives, innovation & technology. In contrast, the Far Left want to significantly raise your airfares, gas taxes & electricity bills that hurts quality of life. We have a better way.”

“I share your desire to reduce carbon emissions as any right-thinking person would, I would think.”

“Climate change is the greatest environmental and energy challenge of our time, and our government is failing to meet it.”

“I admit it. I used to be a climate-change skeptic. I was one of those conservatives who thought that the science was inconclusive, that fears of global warming were as overblown as fears of a new ice age in the 1970s, that climate change was natural and cyclical, and that there was no need to incur any economic costs to deal with this speculative threat. I no longer think any of that, because the scientific consensus is so clear and convincing.”

“I believe that climate change is real and I believe humans are a key component in that.”

“Nature isn’t just a destination, it’s our home. We should be protecting our parks and public lands not just because they’re natural wonders but also because conservation is vital to addressing climate change. I’ll continue to work to find free-market conservation solutions.”

“What I’m just saying is, what are the practical means to address it? And the practical means to address it by the left are absurd.”

“I say climate change is real and it contributes to the problem. But climate change or not, not managing the forest drastically contributes to the problem.”

“I don’t think there is any doubt there is climate change — I think the science is pretty clear.”

“I have long said that while I support clean air and clean water, any actions on climate change by the US need to be weighed against the science, the impact our reductions will have on a global scale and the economic impacts they will have here at home. … I look forward to a future where America and the world continue to follow Texas’ lead, both in oil and gas production, and in new, innovative energy sources.”

“I’m not a climate change denier & agree we must do something.”

“The climate is changing and I believe humans play a role in that. There is no doubt about that. … I am supportive of a clean energy policy. What does that mean? That means clean coal, it means solar, it means wind.”

“Clean energy innovation is key to addressing the serious issue of climate change.”

“Good stewardship of the environment is not just a personal responsibility, it is a public value… Our duty is to use the land well, and sometimes not to use it at all. This is our responsibility as citizens, but more than that, it is our calling as stewards of the earth.”
“Preservation of our environment is not a liberal or conservative challenge; it’s common sense.”
