Two of the world’s largest food and ag companies are working to rewire the way corn is grown across Iowa. PepsiCo and Cargill have launched a long-term initiative to implement regenerative agriculture practices across 240,000 acres in the state by 2030. Iowa, the top U.S. corn-producing state, plays a central role in the companies’ shared supply chain—Cargill sources corn from the region to produce ingredients used in PepsiCo products.
This collaboration is not about isolated pilot projects. It’s designed to create a scalable model for integrating regenerative methods across industrial corn farming. The effort blends supply chain alignment with localized implementation, aiming to influence how sustainability is practiced at the field level—and not just reported in boardrooms.
