House Ag Committee Advances Farm Bill with Democrat Support

  • The House Agriculture Committee advanced the Republican-led 2026 Farm Bill in a 34–17 vote with support from seven Democrats, marking the first major step toward reauthorizing agriculture and nutrition programs that have been outdated since the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018. The bill still faces an uncertain path in Congress and remains contentious over issues like pesticide liability protections, SNAP policy, and provisions targeting California Proposition 12.
