The Guam Power Authority said it has been selected by the U.S. Department of Energy to participate in the inaugural Utility and Grid Operator Technical Assistance program.
As one of only seven applicants chosen nationwide, GPA said it will gain access to expertise and resources necessary to develop reliable, resilient, and secure grids to meet the nation’s increasing energy demands.
“Being chosen for this groundbreaking program underscores GPA’s commitment to advancing our island’s energy infrastructure,” GPA General Manager John M. Benavente said in a release. “This collaboration will enhance our efforts to deliver more affordable, equitable, and reliable electricity to the people of Guam.”
