PepsiCo doubles down on reducing virgin plastic

  • PepsiCo has announced that they will cut virgin plastic use across its portfolio by 50% and increase its use of recycled plastics by 50%.
  • In addition to reducing its virgin plastic usage, Pepsi is also looking to reduce its emissions and spread regenerative agriculture practices across 7 million acres of land.
  • The leadership of the private sector is addressing some of our most important environmental challenges.

“In January, the food and beverage company announced a plan to reduce direct emissions by 75 percent and Scope 3 emissions by 40 percent by 2030, and to strive to be entirely net zero by 2040. The new goals include the previous net-zero emissions target by 2040 but also spread the focus on other environmental issues including agriculture, water and plastic.”
