Gates Raises Over $1 Billion For Green Technologies As Part Of Climate Change Pledge

Lisa Kim of Forbes reports that Bill Gates has raised over $1 billion for green technologies.

  • Bill Gates, through his nonprofit Breakthrough Energy Ventures, has raised over $1 billion for the advancement of green hydrogen, direct air capture, sustainable aviation fuel, and long duration energy storage.
  • This funding round came from corporations and other members of the private sector that are serious in their commitment to a cleaner future.
  • Gates’ leadership shows that the private sector is best equipped to address climate change.

“In 2016, Gates launched the $1 billion Breakthrough Energy Ventures fund that now has the backing of more than 25 investors to develop affordable clean energy. The fund has supported a range of startups, including those that work to replace fossil fuels and make meat alternatives.”
