- California has the fifth highest economy in the world. An economy of this size should not experience unreliable energy.
- Renewable energy is great, but it cannot be the sole provider of electricity for an entire state.
- Nuclear energy is a non-carbon emitting energy source that is more reliable than renewables.
“The shutoffs were necessary because of the state’s reliance on renewable energy. Cloudy days and still weather meant renewable power sources could only serve 18% of Californian’s demand — nowhere near enough…California could avoid this problem in the future by embracing nuclear power.”
