What the U.S. farm bill could mean for the future of precision agriculture

The C3 Take
  • The House farm bill draft includes a provision to create voluntary, industry-led standards for precision agriculture, bringing USDA together with NIST and the FCC to make sure the next generation of farm tech actually works together. If done right, that could lower adoption costs, improve connectivity in rural areas, and give farmers more confidence in using data-driven tools.

  • It also pairs with bipartisan efforts like the PRECISE Act, which would expand access to precision ag through existing conservation loan programs. Modern farm policy should back innovation that helps farmers grow more with fewer inputs while staying competitive at home and abroad.
