Your Cheat Sheet to the U.N. Climate Conference in Glasgow

Ken Brown, Shane Shifflett, Scott Patterson of The Wall Street Journal provide a cheat sheet to the U.N. climate conference in Glasgow.

The C3 Take
  • The Conference of Parties (COP) is the annual U.N. climate summit and will last from November 1-12.
  • While many activists and world leaders will be touting top-down, command and control approaches to climate change, conservatives will be amplifying free markets.
  • C3 Solutions will be at COP promoting our report Free Economies are Clean Economies.
  • If we want to seriously address climate change, we must look to solutions that are rooted in economic freedom.

Since then, businesses and investors have spent billions of dollars to transition away from fossil fuels and toward renewable energy. Governments have boosted regulations and spent heavily to reduce the financial impact of weather disasters, which have increased as the globe’s temperature has risen.”
