Waste Not, Want Not: Retailers Collaborate With Food Initiative To Tackle $26 Billion Problem

  • The Bread and Butter Thing is a sustainable food initiative in England that redistributes food and everyday essentials for a fraction of the original retail price.
  • The group takes excess food that has either been overproduced or has slight abnormalities and sells it back to families for a low cost to help combat food waste and food insecurity.
  • By the end of 2022 the Bread and Butter Thing expects to deliver its one millionth meal.
