Rachael Frazin of The Hill reports, the United States has officially joined the global Trillion Trees initiative.
- The Trillion Trees Act, which was introduced by Rep. Bruce Westermann (R-AK) in February, would have had the United States join in on the Trillion Trees Initiative.
- Despite calls from critics for it “not being enough” the United States joining the Initiative shows a deep commitment to conservation and pragmatic ways to reduce our carbon footprint.
“The U.S. chapter of the One Trillion Trees program, launched Thursday, aims to plant at least 855 million trees by 2030.”
