Josh Siegel of the Washington Examiner reports that the Trump Administration has awarded $30 million to five nuclear energy companies.

- The companies that are receiving the funding are still in the early stages of development and will likely not reach the market for 10 years.
- Making these investments now is crucial as we look for ways to reduce our emissions in the coming years.
“‘Nuclear is a critical component to having a carbon reduction strategy,’ said Alice Caponiti, deputy assistant secretary for reactor fleet and advanced reactor deployment in the DOE’s Office of Nuclear Energy. ‘Having this pipeline of advanced reactors is critical to future deployment,’ she told reporters on a press call.”
