- Brimstone Energy believes that it has cracked the code to producing carbon-free cement.
- The company uses calcium silicate rock rather than limestone to produce cement, which allows the company to emit zero emissions in the production process.
- Importantly, Brimstone’s cement is as strong as Portland cement and the company believes it will be cheaper to produce.
“‘Ultimately, our plan, our goal would be to develop a credibly lower-cost process to make Portland cement at scale. And, therefore, because it’s lower cost, eventually, our process will replace 100% of cement production facilities worldwide, leading to a fully decarbonized system,’ Finke said.”
