- Blue Forest Conservation is a startup that connects private investors and companies with local conservation groups to fund forest management projects.
- By using private money Blue Forest is able to bring projects online more quickly than if it were to use federal dollars.
- In 2018 Blue Forest launched and raised enough money to protect 15,000 acres of the Tahoe National Forest.
- Now Blue Forest has announced that it will allocate $50 million toward forest restoration work across high-risk areas in Oregon, California, and Washington.
“Rather than wait on government funds, they’ve created a unique bond that pools money from private investors, public agencies, utilities and companies to pump millions of dollars into wildfire projects up-front — and finish the job years in advance.”
