Amrith Ramkumar of The Wall Street Journal reports on a green energy investment fund that continues to grow.
- From shuttered off-shore wind to delayed solar energy projects, the renewables sector had difficulty in 2023.
- Despite this, Brookfield Asset Management is continuing to grow and plans to raise $25 billion for two new private funds investing in clean energy.
- Its $10 billion green fund will invest in a range of global projects, including a wind farm in the U.K. and solar developers in India.
“Total global investment in the energy transition hit about $1.8 trillion last year, a 17% increase from 2022, according to BloombergNEF. That was still far short of the $4.8 trillion the data provider estimates is needed annually from 2024 to 2030 to meet the world’s climate targets.”
