- U.S.-based Sempra energy is partnering with Total and Mitsubishi to build a carbon capture plant in Louisiana.
- The plant, which will be called Hackberry Carbon Sequestration, could store up to 2 million tons of CO2 per year.
- Private sector innovation is creating a cleaner planet.
“‘This project is expected to be among the first North American carbon capture facilities designed to receive and store CO2 from multiple sources,’ said Justin Bird, chief executive officer of Sempra’s unit, in a statement.”
