- True environmentalism aims to improve the health of the planet and the health of the people that inhabit it.
- Delegates and leaders from around the world will soon be gathering to discuss how to best address climate change; they would do well to embrace a strategy that is rooted in economic freedom and private enterprise.
“Do we want to embrace new technology and private initiative to create a future that still offers consumer choice – in fact, expands it? Do we want a future where poor countries can become wealthy and rich countries can use even more energy (albeit of a zero-carbon variety), allowing greater consumption, more travel and generally greater progress and aspiration? Or are we going to allow a puritanical, anti-growth, anti-consumerist green movement to capture the state and impose its cultural revolution on the population by fiat?”
