- The Green New Deal’s renewable energy mandates would end American energy independence while ceding ground to China.
- The sections of the Green New Deal that call for 100% renewable energy are impossible to achieve without opening up U.S. mineral mining, something that progressives often oppose.
- Instead of throwing all of our eggs into one basket, we should continue to pursue an “all of the above” energy strategy which has been proven to reduce emissions.
“Enter the anti-development green lobby. Enter the Democratic Party politics that push the ‘Green New Deal’ that envisions a rapid ‘energy transition’ to renewables and electric vehicles and the abolition of fossil fuels and the internal combustion engine. The sparks will inevitably fly when the traditional priorities of these interest groups and policy goals collide with the realities on the ground.”
