“Anne Simpson, who leads governance work for Calpers, the largest US pension fund, said oil and gas companies must transform into something new to avoid dying like buggy-whip makers after the advent of trains and cars. ‘Fossil fuels powered so much, which has benefited so many people. And now it’s time to move on,’ she said.”
