The Conservative Texans for Energy Innovation write about its new report which finds that clean energy projects are a boon to the Texas economy.
- The report found that landowners will directly receive $11.8-$21.7 in payments over all existing and planned clean energy project lifetimes.
- Planned utility scale wind, solar, and storage projects will also pay as much as $15.9 billion in tax revenue to local jurisdictions.
- As Texas has shown, an all-of-the-above energy strategy that allows markets to pick winners and losers is the most effective strategy to drive innovation and economic progress.
- Texas should continue to implement free market energy policies and reject current PUC proposals which would lead to the government unfairly favoring fossil fuel projects.
“The report concluded by stating the growth of renewables has been a significant source of revenue for local jurisdictions and landowners across Texas, but any policy changes that reduce renewable or storage deployment in Texas will reduce these benefits, which are a lifeline to many rural communities across the state.”
