Ben Geman reports on a new micro-fusion energy startup.
- Avalanche Energy has received $40 million in Series A funding from Founders Fund and Toyota Ventures.
- The company makes micro-fusion reactors which Avalanche says are able to be more affordably deployed and scaled which would theoretically speed up its commercialization.
- If successful, this technology could unlock the way for the deployment of fusion energy.
“‘We want to build the smallest fusion reactor in the world. Then we’re talking about a project that’s maybe tens of millions of dollars, not billions, and you could actually do it with a small team,'” Avalanche CEO Robin Langtry tells the paper.”
