- Global emissions have now rebounded past pre-pandemic levels due in large part to coal-fired power plants in Asia.
- Despite net-zero promises, China continues to fund and build out coal-fired projects in its country and abroad.
- Thus far China’s climate goals seem to be more rhetorical than realistic. If we want to truly address climate change, the U.S. must hold China accountable on its environmental promises.
