- In order to achieve these renewable energy goals, the United States will have to depend heavily on China to supply the rare earth elements needed to make solar panels and electric vehicles.
- Instead of mandates that increase our reliance on China, the government should default to the private sector to domestically produce the materials and technologies needed to reduce our emissions.
“EVs, whether we like to admit it or not, are predominately made in China. Furthermore, the rare earth elements required for their functionality is a market dominated by China. Even if Biden were able to encourage America automakers to rethink their production lines, China still controls the parts.”
