Jamie Hailstone writes in Forbes about one company that is using moss to create clean air.
- While it is viewed as an eyesore by many, moss could play an important role in cleaning our air.
- German-based Green City Solutions is looking to capitalize on moss’ potential by creating a series of moss-based filters that can be installed in urban areas.
- The filters work by sucking in polluted city air and pressing it through the moss which is retrofitted with AI sensors to measure air quality in the area.
- Private sector innovation is creating a cleaner environment.
“Sänger says the combination of technology and biology has multiple benefits. When mosses appear to be too stressed they are exchanged, and brought back to Green City Solutions form to regenerate, before being sent out again.”
