Josh Siegel of Politico reports that House Republicans will release an energy and climate strategy.
- The strategy will look to bolster energy security and lower prices by decreasing regulatory barriers for domestic production of all energy sources.
- The climate change strategy will also accelerate innovation by reforming regulations such as the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), which delay infrastructure and energy projects by an average of 4.5 years.
- Empowering America’s innovators and entrepreneurs will reduce global emissions while bolstering our economic well-being.
“’Are we open to looking at strategies that nudge technologies to economic sustainability? Yes. But a lot of that can be achieved through R&D partnering with innovators,’ said Graves, who represents an oil and gas district experiencing sea level rise and is currently the ranking GOP member of the Democratic-led Select Committee on the Climate Crisis.”
