Veselina Petrova reports for Renewables Now on Hershey’s bid to purchase solar power.
- Hershey’s will purchase 140 MW’s from National Grid’s 150 MW solar farm in Texas’ Falls County.
- Texas, due to its open and competitive markets, is a national leader in clean energy production.
- Hershey’s is looking to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions 50% by 2030 and Scope 3 emissions 25% by that same year.
“The Copperhead solar park will be equipped with First Solar’s Series 6 thin-film PV modules, while the integrated battery storage system will be supplied by Fluence Energy Inc. The complex will be installed by engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm TIC—The Industrial Company.”
