Green energy: 90% growth of power capacity globally in 2020

As Michelle Lewis of Electrek writes, wind and solar power will more than double over the next five years, according to a recent International Energy Agency report.

  • This shift, according to the IEA, has been accelerated by the pandemic.
  • China and the US contributed the most this year, while next year it is likely that the UK and India will be the biggest contributor to new energy generation through renewables.
