President-elect Biden has pledged to invest substantially into the renewable energy industry. This will be seen by way of taxpayer-funded loans and subsidies, that have often failed to work. The right approach to addressing climate change is not doubling down on government spending, but rather empowering the free market and private sector to produce solutions that lower our emissions.
“Renewable energy scams such as Crescent Dunes remind us that these ‘public-private’ projects rarely produce much electric power, and they don’t save the planet from climate change. But they do make millionaires out of lobbyists and fraudsters.”
