Finance firms join group to deploy private capital in climate flight

Neal Freyman of The Morning Brew writes on finance groups that are deploying private capital to fight climate change.

  • More than 150 financial firms have signed on to the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ).
  • Collectively the Alliance is worth $130 trillion and will use its impressive resources to fund projects across the globe that will move us to net zero.
  • The private sector is voluntarily leading the way to a cleaner future.

“The aim is to funnel the alliance’s collective $130 trillion in assets (representing 40% of the world’s capital) into projects that help the globe reach the target set out by the Paris agreement of limiting warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.”
