Fewer gas pipelines will mean higher carbon emissions and more Russian threats

Jeff Kupfer of ConservAmerica writes in The Washington Examiner about the importance of gas pipelines.

The C3 Take
  • Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has emphasized the importance of energy security.
  • A government mandated push to move on from fossil fuels in America will increase costs for consumers, stifle energy innovation, and do little to reduce global climate change.
  • To boost energy security in the United States while reducing emissions abroad, we must adequately invest in energy infrastructure such as pipelines.

“Band-Aid approaches aren’t going to secure our energy future. Nor should discussions about setting the right course fall along party lines. Instead, policymakers must consider real, long-term solutions to address our energy needs. That means not just taking advantage of vast U.S. energy supplies, but building the necessary infrastructure that will allow us to reduce prices, address climate change, and increase energy security around the world.”
