FedEx to Invest $2 Billion in Bid for Carbon-Neutral Operations

Colin Kellaher of The Wall Street Journal reports that FedEx will invest $2 billion to make their operations carbon neutral by 2040.

The C3 Take
  • FedEx will make half of its vehicle fleet electric by 2025 and its entire fleet electric by 2030.
  • The shipping giant will also provide $100 million to Yale University to develop natural solutions for reducing atmospheric carbon dioxide.
  • FedEx is the latest of many corporations to show that the free market is prepared to find the solutions needed to reduce emissions.

“The moves by FedEx and its rival package carriers are accelerating competition among vehicle manufacturers to develop and produce the trucks and delivery vans that cargo companies are seeking to reduce their carbon emissions.”
