Earmarks crowd out business and charitable spending while benefiting only insiders

  • Earmarked spending for climate projects in the omnibus bill went prodomeninatily to rich, white areas, according to E&E News.
  • To meaningfully reduce the risks of climate change for everyone, while reducing the size of government, lawmakers must ban the practice of earmarks.
