Jennifer Nastu of Energy + Environmental Leader reports that Duke Energy Sustainable Solutions is slated to build the largest solar project to date.
- Charles River Laboratories has signed a long-term solar virtual power purchasing agreement with Duke Energy that will address all of Charles River’s North American energy needs.
- The purchasing agreement will generate 250,000 MWh of clean energy annually and will be located in Texas.
- Since 2018, Charles River has reduced its global greenhouse gas emissions by 28%.
“The 15-year, 102 megawatt VPPA with Duke Energy Sustainable Solutions will generate about 250,0000 MWh of clean energy each year. The 250 MW Pisgah Ridge Solar project, located in Navarro County, Texas, will be the largest utility-scale solar facility in Duke Energy Sustainable Solutions’ fleet when it becomes fully operational in 2022.”
