- Seattle-based Modern Electron is partnering with dairy farmers to create heat from waste.
- The startup will convert cow waste into natural gas, and turn this natural gas into clean hydrogen.
- Modern Electron hopes that this project will reduce animal waste runoff in streams near farms, while decarbonizing home heating.
“Modern Electron is building a pilot plant at the biodigester facility that will use a technology called methane pyrolysis to cleave the hydrogen from the carbon. It should be up and running by early 2023, said CEO Tony Pan.”
