  • Not only will this benefit our economy and energy independence, but it will also benefit the environment by having cleaner mining and no child labor produce these batteries.
  • The United States can promote clean mining through technological innovation, transparency of practices, and regulatory reform.

Ignoring this issue and failing to perfect environmentally sustainable mining practices in North America today will sow the seeds of another energy dependency crisis as serious as the Arab Oil Embargo of the 1970s.”
