Reuters writes that China’s carbon neutrality goals are being undermined by their coal-fired power plants.
There is a disconnect between China’s climate pledge and their actions. While they are making ambitious goals to reach carbon neutrality, they continue to build coal-fired power plants.
“President Xi Jinping promised in September that China would bring climate-warming greenhouse gas emissions to a peak before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality 30 years later, committing the country to an accelerated transition to renewable energy.”
