- After shutting down its coal plants to tout a “green” Olympics, China has announced that they will once again run their coal-fired power plants at full capacity.
- China is by far the world’s largest polluter and is now emitter more CO2 emissions that the rest of developed nations combined.
- To counter China’s environmental degradation, the United States should export economic freedom to the rest of the world.
“Last year, coal production in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region alone topped 1.06 billion tonnes, Xinhua reported. For 17 years running, the region has been China’s biggest supplier of electricity, the news agency adds.”
