Kelvey Vander Hart is a journalist who has worked in politics and public policy for over a decade. An Iowa native, she served on campaigns and within the Iowa State Legislature before moving to Kansas City and working with the Show-Me Institute, Missouri’s leading state-based free-market think tank. Upon her return to Iowa, Vander Hart worked in communications consulting, specializing in energy and environmental issues. As a writer, Vander Hart has featured her energy and environmental work in publications nationwide. She is currently a senior fellow in animal welfare policy at The Wilberforce Institute, a think tank dedicated to market-based animal welfare solutions. Vander Hart also works as a communications specialist for Reason Foundation and Reason magazine. She resides in Alabama with her rescue dog.
