Reuters reports on carbon capture coming to Houston.
- BP and Linde are partnering to bring a carbon capture plant to the Houston area by 2026.
- Exxon Mobil, who is also building a carbon capture and sequestration plant along the Texas Gulf Coast, says that its plant will be able to sequester 100 million metric tons of CO2 annually.
- Private sector leadership is essential to creating a cleaner environment and more robust economy.
“The BP-Linde venture aims to start storing CO2 from Linde’s hydrogen gas plants and seek additional customers for an up to 15 million tonne sequestration facility. BP will develop and permit the venture’s subterranean sites and Linde will provide gas compression technology to the venture.”
