Betting on death of petrol cars, Volvo to go all electric by 2030

Nick Carey and Helena Soderpalm of Reuters report that Volvo will be all electric by 2030.

  • Volvo has stated that 50% of its global sales will be fully electric by 2025, with hybrid models comprising the other half of sales.
  • Volvo is the latest car manufacturer to announce phase-outs of gas-powered vehicles, showing the free market is looking for ways to lower emissions.
  • America can play a significant role in the electrification of vehicles by increasing our domestic supply of rare earth minerals through mining.
