At this vertical farm, green thumbs aren’t required

  • Indoor and vertical farming has received increased attention from investors, many of whom see it as a way to feed a growing global population with minimal land use.
  • Bowery Farming is one up and coming player in the space.
  • The company employs over 600 people, produces over 47 million servings of leafy greens per year, and has partnered with Whole Foods and Walmart to bring indoor farmed veggies to people’s homes.

“In late May, Bowery opened its third farm, located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, which it says will also employ at least 70 people. It plans to open two more facilities in Q1 2023 in the Atlanta, Georgia, and Dallas metro areas.”
