APS Taps Wind to Deliver Clean Energy to its Customers

As Matthew Mercure of North American Wind Power writes, Arizona Public Service Co. will seek to provide its customers with 100% renewables by 2050.

  • The Arizona Public Service Co. has also pledged to use Leeward Renewable Energy’s GE wind-turbine technology by the end of 2021.
  • This effort will modernize and bring more power to their energy generation site in Guadalupe County, New Mexico.

“‘Renewable energy resources like this wind power are important to a diverse and increasingly clean energy mix for Arizona,’ says Brad Albert, vice president of resource management at APS. ‘By working with supplier partners like Leeward, APS is advancing toward our target of having 45% of our generation portfolio in renewable energy by 2030 on the path to 100% clean energy by 2050.'”
