Amazon Web Services plans to be water positive by 2030

Alexandra Garfinkle of Yahoo Finance reports that Amazon Web Services plans to be water positive, meaning it will back more water than it uses directly, by 2030.

  • Last year Amazon Web Services (AWS) used .25 liters of water per kilowatt hour, making it the most water efficient cloud service provider on the market.
  • The company will reach its goal to be water positive by investing in water replenishment, water reuse, and water efficiency projects.
  • AWS has stated that environmental sustainability is not only socially responsible, but economically advantageous as well.
