Power Technology reports that Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant in Texas has received a 20-year license extension.
- Nuclear power met 8% of Texas’ electricity needs in 2022.
- Comanche Peak’s two reactors have a capacity of 2,400 megawatts and provide employment to 600 staff and more than 200 permanent contractors.
- The extension of Comanche Peak is a win for consumers in Texas, the state’s power grid, and the environment.
