New polling from Pew Research Center indicates that a large majority of Americans favor clean energy and carbon neutrality.
- 69% of Americans are in favor of the U.S. becoming carbon neutral by 2050.
- Importantly, 67% of respondents said that the United States should continue to use fossil fuels in our energy portfolio, while prioritizing energy innovation and clean technologies.
- Policymakers should listen to the American people and embrace an “all of the above” energy strategy.
“Amid growing global energy demand and rising carbon dioxide emissions, majorities of Americans say the United States should prioritize the development of renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar, and take steps toward the country becoming carbon neutral by the year 2050.”
