There’s a New Place to Store Greenhouse Gases: In Your Beer

  • Almanac Beer Company, a California brewery, is pulling CO2 straight out of the air and using it to carbonate its beer. Commercial CO2 has become harder to reliably source, with missed deliveries and supply swings disrupting operations.
  • The company is treating carbon as something useful instead of waste. It won’t solve emissions on its own, but if systems like this get cheap and easy to deploy, they could become a scalable solution.
