Terrestrial Energy announced an agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy to build and operate a pilot molten salt reactor under Project TETRA, using the DOE’s Advanced Reactor Pilot Program to accelerate authorization and deployment.

The deal is designed to fast-track the commercialization of Terrestrial’s Integral Molten Salt Reactor technology, which aims to deliver clean, firm nuclear power and industrial heat for uses like manufacturing and data centers in the early 2030s.
